Being a stay at home mom has been the most challenging role of my life, without a doubt! I’ve gathered these stay at home mom quotes to provide a mix of inspiration and hilarity to your SAHM days. I hope you can relate to these quotes as much as I do.

Okay, back to the quotes!
First, some SAHM quotes about the daily grind:
“I don’t have a ‘9 to 5’ — I have a ‘when I open my eyes to when I close my eyes.'”
“My alarm clock wears cute jammies and smiles at me when I wake up.” -@little_loulli on Instagram
“On being a stay at home mom: Half of the time, I feel like I’m running an insane asylum… the other half, I feel I belong in one.”
“We can’t afford a full-time chef, accountant, nanny, housekeeper, pet sitter, etc. so I’m a stay at home mom.”
(But for real — can I get a chef and a housekeeper? That would go a LONG way toward making our house less zoo-like…)

(There’s no eating bon-bons here…)

Then there’s the stay at home mom “uniform”

(In fairness to stay at home moms — courtesy of the past year and counting, this has become A LOT of people’s uniforms, not just moms.)

There’s also some stay at home mom quotes about your impact (which is, of course, HUGE).

I like this quote because it’s sweet and to the point. You’re spending your days with your favorite people on this planet (even if they sometimes make you want to pull your hair out…).

“I might not see it now, but the time I’m investing in my kids does matter.”
I should probably get that one tattooed on my forehead because there are definitely days it doesn’t feel true. But of course, it is!

“Kids don’t stay with you if you do it right. It’s the one job where, the better you are, the more surely you won’t be needed in the long run.” B. Kingsglover
Well, that’s a tough and somewhat depressing pill to swallow, so let’s move on…
And of course, some quotes that acknowledge the struggle is real:

For real. I am so sorry to my parents for every jerkish thing I ever did. Now my own children are doing some of those same jerkish things (hello eyerolls and the word “whatever”– blah!)

Then there’s quotes that recognize acknowledging stay at home moms is not the same as denigrating working moms.

This one’s great because society just loves to pit working moms and stay at home moms against one another, which is dumb.

Yep — all motherhood is hard. Don’t be a jerk about it.

This has probably been the hardest lesson for me to learn since becoming a stay at home mom. What other people think of you is none of your business. Which is a great segway into the next stay at home mom quote (and one of my faves):
“I don’t care what you think of me. Unless you think I’m awesome — in which case, you’re right!”
And where would we be without the quotes that make every stay at home mom cringe and possibly want to hurt someone?
“What do you even do all day as a stay at home mom?”
(I don’t even know if it’s fair to call that one a stay at home mom quote — it’s clearly more of an offensive dig at SAHMs. Anyone who says it deserves a slap, but I digress…)
“Treasure every moment; it goes by so fast.”
Yes we know that. And of course we treasure our children. However, I will not be treasuring the zero sleep I got last night or the fact that I got vomit inside my shirt.
